Electrical Design Engineer

Our Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for the schematic, layout and bring-up of digital boards for our various products. The Electrical Design Engineer is also a key interface with the various suppliers and board assembly shops and sets the best practices for development and delivery for digital board design and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • More than five (5) years of electrical board design experience.
  • Experience in Power, Analog, Digital and mixed signal design.
  • Knowledge and use of electronic CAD tool for PCB layout and development, Altium preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform circuit modeling and simulation.
  • Exceptional teamwork, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High standards of, and ability to maintain, strict confidentiality as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and a high level of customer service.
  • Must show flexibility and positivity when responding to changes in work volume or priorities.
  • Ability to pass and maintain a clear background check and drug screening.
  • Must currently possess or be able to obtain US security clearance.
  • DESIRED SKILLS
  • Knowledge of IPC and/ or MIL standards for PCB Interconnect designs.
  • Ability to complete design work with minimal guidance.
  • Electrical stress and derating experience, such as voltage, current, power, inrush current, duty cycles, timing analysis, power interrupts, power supply efficiency, connector pin currents/derating, EMC considerations.
  • Knowledge of component selection for military specifications, including extreme environmental conditions.
  • Prior experience with the Defense and Aerospace contracting industries.

    Requirements

    • Circuit design, modeling, prototyping, verification, and validation.
    • PCB schematic design, layout, and bring-up.
    • Generation of system BOM.
    • Management of fabrication vendors and electronic development partners.
    • Design for Manufacturing.
    • Provide hands-on support to solve complex technical problems.
    • Other responsibilities as directed and assigned.

    Physical Demands

    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for more than 75% of the time.
    • Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access equipment and office machinery.
    • Must have the ability to move, transport, position and/or remove up to 25 pounds Must be able to position oneself to move in a manner required to perform the daily work associated with this role.
    • Must be able to operate standard office productivity machinery and equipment including a phone, computer, mouse and keyboard, photocopy machine, scanner and e-fax.
    • Daily work environment and noise level is that of a standard office.
    • Occasionally you may experience, or be in the vicinity of, outdoor weather conditions at our Ranch location, although basic shelter from the elements is provided it is not constant, based on the scope of tasks being performed.
    • Occasionally you may experience, or be in the vicinity of, a noise level consistent with a warehouse work environment.
