The VP of Administration position will be responsible for leadership of the administrative, infrastructure, legal, and financial support of the organization. The duties primarily include coordinating with other leaders in the organization, establishing plans for functional teams, equipping and developing individual staff members, overseeing pursuit of goals, as well as managing and working with the administrative teams. The preeminent duty the VP of Administration is to ensure preservation of a mission-driven culture that leads to effective and efficient support services.

Salary Range: $145k/y to $185k/y


  • Bear fiduciary and legal responsibilities of a company Officer
  • Manage and work side by side with a small team of experts
  • Delegate tasks within HR, Finance, IT, and Facilities and monitor daily operations
  • Lead, guide, and mentor administrative staff in their tasks and functions
  • Assess and evaluate existing methods and functions and develop necessary processes and procedures to maximize efficiencies across the organization
  • Act as a liaison between employees and upper management when it comes to financial and administrative issues
  • Organize the workplace so that workflow is streamlined
  • Track, monitor, and document performance of each individual on your team
  • Collaborate with leadership to implement policies and develop improvements
  • Organize and coordinate inter and intradepartmental operations
  • Oversee resource allocation and budgeting
  • Provide guidance to subordinate staff and evaluate performance
  • Hire and onboard new staff and managers
  • Resolve issues that may arise in a timely manner
  • Assume responsibility for timely reporting to senior management or regulatory agencies
  • Assist in other tasks as assigned


  • Proven experience working as an administrative officer for 2+ years
  • 10+ years of experience in leadership
  • Solid understanding of business functions - HR, IT, finance, security, facilities, etc.
  • Knowledge of fiscal planning, budgeting, and reporting
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Critical thinker and problem solver
  • Agile and highly motivated by the mission
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Defense industry experience preferred; especially in the R&D realm
  • Start-up/small team experience during growth phase preferred

Physical Demands

  • Work is performed in an office, laboratory, or machine shop environment
  • Travel and local commute between AimLock offices and remote test sites, and other possible non-AimLock locations may be required
  • When necessary, we will approach deliverables with all-hands on deck regardless of title or position
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for more than 75% of the time
  • Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access equipment and office machinery
  • Must be able to regularly lift and /or move up to 5-pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to position oneself to move in a manner required to perform the daily work associated with this role
  • Must be able to operate standard office productivity machinery and equipment including a phone, computer, mouse and keyboard, photocopy machine, scanner, and e-fax
  • Daily work environment and noise level is that of a standard office
  • Occasionally you may experience, or be in the vicinity of outdoor weather conditions at our Ranch location
  • Occasionally you may experience, or be in the vicinity of, a noise level consistent with a warehouse work environment
