The Application Engineer is responsible for the configuration and customization of products and systems. This role is responsible for bills of materials that drive decisions for supply chain, inventory management, production schedules, and pricing for customers. The Application Engineer will match system solutions to customers' requirements, maintain documentation systems for configuration control, evaluate alternate component and subsystem sources, develop quotation packages, verify customer purchase orders, and transfer awarded programs to production to ensure on-time delivery to the satisfaction of the customer orders. This role is vital to establishing healthy projects that lead to high customer satisfaction.

Salary Range: 68k/y to 98k/y

Responsibilities

Application Engineering:

  • Capable of converting customer requirements and challenges into solutions
  • Understanding of sourcing requirements including identification of cost and lead times for preferred components
  • Working knowledge of all acceptable substitute components

Technical Sales Engineering:

  • Develops a very good understanding of autonomous precision targeting systems
  • Understands and is sensitive to the competitive landscape, knows our competitors’ strength and weaknesses, and can articulate and advocate for our value proposition
  • Identify & qualify customer needs and requirements
  • Supply technical data and business-related information to existing and prospective customers
  • Capable of developing professional quote packages and presenting them to prospective customers, both written and verbal
  • Assures major customer programs are delivered on time to committed delivery dates
  • Verifies Purchase Orders (POs) agree with quotations
  • Support key marketing/sales activities including trade shows, conferences, and other Defense Industry events

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Engineering (or related field)
  • Familiarity with electronics components, materials properties, and manufacturing processes
  • Maintaining existing and establish new relationships with customers
  • Military/Defense business acumen; Defense Industry experience preferred
  • Able to work in fast-paced sprint environment to meet intermittent deadlines, while managing long-term projects in the background
  • Exceptional listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Highly proficient computer skills; database management preferred
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Highly energetic self-starter
  • Should be honest, assertive, and systematic
  • Must be able to obtain US security clearance
  • Ability to travel and function in all-weather environments for product demonstrations

Physical Demands

  • Requires approximately 90% in office, 10% field (travel)
  • Work is performed in an office or military firing range environment
  • Travel and local commute between AimLock offices and remote test sites, and other possible non-AimLock locations is required
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for more than 75% of the time
  • Must be able to regularly lift and /or move 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
  • Must be able to operate standard office productivity machinery and equipment including a phone, computer, mouse and keyboard, photocopy machine, scanner, and e-fax
  • Daily work environment and noise level is that of a standard office
  • Occasionally you may experience outdoor inclement weather conditions at range locations
  • Occasionally you may experience, or be in the vicinity of, a noise level consistent with a firearms training range environment
